Wine Foil in New Home

It's funny how something can be exhibited again and again, and suddenly it takes off and flies away. I showed 5 large wine foil pieces at Maple Valley in Plainfield, Vermont during December, and they have all sold, except for the Queen Bee, who is really amusing, I think, so I suspect she'll find a home too.

The piece called Twins, showing two celebrating stilt-walkers, was the last to go. Here it is in its new home, in good company with two paintings by Maggie Neale and a large piece by Viiu Niiler.

I'm soon heading out for a week in New Orleans, where we'll participate in one of the early Mardi Gras parades. I'm making a chicken costume. Stay tuned...

Amore at Studio Place Arts

The Amore show is up at SPA, with an opening reception this Saturday, January 24, from 3:30-5:30 PM. The show runs through February 21, and it's a really good one, so see it if you can, and I'd love to see you at the reception!

Art of Place at Chandler Gallery

“The Art of Place” runs from January 17 - March 8 at the  at the Chandler Center for the Arts in Randolph. The opening reception on January 17 was packed.

The exhibit was co-curated by Joshua Turk and Nina Gaby and they did a fabulous job of selecting and arranging the work in the exhibit. Plus, the refreshments were excellent!

My work in the exhibit was my Black and White cabinet

and TWO, in the farther room of the gallery, next to Lars Hasselblad-Torres' installation. Here are two people framing it...

Gallery hours are quite limited -- Fridays 3-6 pm and Saturdays and Sundays 12-3 pm -- but it's an exhibit that's really worth the trip if you can hit one of those times before March 8.

Dots on Mars

Amazingly, a Mars lander called Beagle 2, lost since 2003, has just been observed on the planet, including a dot painting created by Damien Hurst!

More on the Beagle 2 and its arts connections here.
